Only 1 hour from Paris, 1h30 from the beaches near Deauville. The town is located between the rivers Eure and Végre. 10 miles north east of the larger town of Dreux. The main city in this part of France is Chartres.

This area has a bit of everything for the visitor! There are a number of chateaux and gardens to visit as well as a fantastic variety of French villages complete with historic houses and superb restaurants.

The chateau of Anet was built by Henry II for his long term friend and mistress Diana of Poitiers in the 16th Century. This chateau is also well known as it was used as a location for the James Bond Film Thunderball.

Within 5 miles is Ivry-La-Bataille site of a huge battle between  Henry IV and his Hugenots against the Catholic League.

At nearby Giverny is the former house of the artist Claude Monet.

Slightly further afield in Normandy you have Le Mont St Michel, the D Day Beaches and many other tourist attractions.
